Garnier Oil Control Complete Vanishing Cream

15/12/2014
Hey dolls! Happy Monday!! Today's post is a quick review of Garnier Oil Control Complete Vanishing Cream which I've been using for the past couple weeks to control my oily t-zone. For those of you that don't know, I have normal to oily skin but I'm particularly dry in the winter with a very oily t-zone. I don't know what it is about the winter that just sends my body crazy into producing more oil and leaving the center of my face looking like an oil rig. I stumbled upon this vanishing cream in my local Poundland and just had to try it out! I mean you can't go wrong for £1 can you? I'm usually very skeptical when it comes to skincare and don't particularly like trying out new products but the oily t-zone was becoming an issue and I needed something to control it ASAP.

Garnier Oil Control Complete Vanishing Cream

First Impressions
First impressions were that I liked the packaging, simple and sleek but nothing particularly exciting to write home about. I also loved the smell which smells a little bit like cucumber and I also enjoyed the texture and consistency of this cream, which is velvety smooth and not too thick but also not too watery at the same time which makes it easy to work with. It glides so nicely into the skin leaving it matte but not dry. The one thing I didn't like was the weird greenish colour which might not bother others but for me I found it a little odd lol.

What does it promise?
This cream contains Eucalyptus and Mattifying clay as it's active ingredients which are known for leaving the skin fresh and purified as well as their oil regulating and absorbing actions. It promises to instantly mattify the skin and help control sebum and shine whilst leaving the skin fresh, purified and moisturised without any white residue or tightness and it also promises to visibly restore the skin's natural radiance.

Does it deliver?
After using this cream for a little over 2 weeks I can say it definitely kept my problem area (t-zone) mattified for longer and slowed down the production of oil. It also acted as a primer and made my makeup stay on for longer without the constant need to blot and powder my face. On a normal day I'd say I usually blot and powder 2-3 times a day, more if I'm particularly active on that day but with this Garnier vanishing cream I found that I would only need to blot and powder once a day and twice if I was having an active day. I would also say that it did leave my skin feeling very fresh and purified and I only experienced the white residue when I applied too much of the product. It also didn't dry out my skin and my skin felt nourished and moisturised without any tightness. I can also say that my skin looked more radiant as although the cream mattified my skin, it did not leave my skin looking dull and ashy like other oil control products I've tried in the past.

Would I recommend?
All in all I'd say this product definitely delivered exactly what it said on the tin and I am completely astounded that it did, especially because I found it in the Pound shop. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with an oily skin type who suffers from shine as well as recomend it to anyone with normal skin who's looking for a good primer. Ever since I started using this product I've minimised the number of products in my skincare routine and no longer use a separate primer as this acts as 3 products in one; oil control, moisturiser and primer! You simply can't go wrong! I simple love this little tube of goodness and will be going back to that pound shop and stocking up on a few more tubes of this vanishing cream which is unavailable in Superdrug and Boots but can be found on Amazon (link included above). Love love love!

Hope you enjoyed this little review my loves. Let me know if you've tried this product out before or if you know of any similar products just as good or even better. Toodles!
