Use Your Wait Time As Prep Time + A Jord Watch Giveaway

26/04/2017

Time is one of those things you start valuing more as you get older. You realise that time is so precious and there's just not enough of it. Ironically you also realise that there can be a lot of time standing between you and your goals which isn't always a pleasant realisation. I mean Hands up if you thought you'd be married, have a kid, your dream job and your dream house by the age of 25. Don't be shy. My hand's right up there with yours and I'm 27 so I'm technically two years behind on my dream life. I'm on track but not quite there yet and although this can be stressful to think about sometimes I choose to look at it as a positive. I choose to use my wait time as my prep time.

You know that old saying; fail to prepare and prepare to fail? It is literally my current mantra. I know there are so many things I want to achieve in life but at the same time I know I have to be realistic about my timeline and what I need to do in order to get there. I know that I have to put in the valuable prep time! My impatience can sometimes get the better of me which is completely normal. And I constantly have to remind myself that anything worth having is worth working hard for and this is the time I have to put in work! Yes I can choose to be lazy and take a shortcut like many do but NEWSFLASH: shortcuts only yield short term results. That's not what I'm after. I'm after results that will last so I have to invest as much time and energy as I can to ensure longevity. I won't get where I need to be with a blase attitude or minimal effort and what I sow now will determine the harvest so lord knows I'm sowing like crazy. I encourage you to do the same too. Sow into your relationships, your friendships, your careers and future plans and I kid you not, you will reap success.

So don't worry too much about not being where you thought you'd be. Instead be grateful for more time to make your dreams come true. Work hard, do your research, ask questions, seek knowledge, don't take the easy way out and you'll be laughing! Yes it gets rough and sometimes our dreams can seem miles away but every test can be a testament. Just continue to soldier on through the bad times and the good times will surely follow. I know it sounds completely cliche but it's the truth. Even Beyonce had to put in many years of work before she had success with Destiny's Child let alone as a solo artist - she worked her ass off! I mean if hard work and grind worked for Queen Bey then it can work for us too!
