Spring is upon us (sort of) and as I have been on a bit of a shopping ban, I have been thinking of more ways to use what I already have and shop smarter. I have been investing in pieces that I can get loads of wear out of - items like the classic white shirt.
Basics are a great affordable way to inject new life into your already existing wardrobe and I always make sure have a few staples on rotation whether it be a great fitting pair of jeans, a leather jacket, some plain t-shirts or a classic white shirt. They are all great starting points, are so easy to style and create the foundation for outfits that you can go on to elevate with accessories that suit your own personal style. These are items I'm definitely buying more of this season to help create some fun looks but are also items I can use and wear in seasons to come.
A white shirt should be a staple in every wardrobe and it is something that I tend to buy time and time again because a) white is hard to keep clean and needs constant updating and b) because it just works! I love to vary my shapes and styles when it comes to white shirts and I often go for a fun update but in today's look I'm showcasing the classic white shirt in all it's glory. A simple button down in fine white iridescent cotton that can work for a multitude of outfits and occasions.
This is a shirt I can pair with trousers and a blazer for a smart work look or wear with jeans and trainers for a put together casual look. It works in so many ways and that is reason why it's important to keep at least one white shirt in your wardrobe; it's an absolute staple.
Simplicity was the word that came to mind when I was putting together this look. Nothing makes a classic shine more than when it's kept simple. I paired this classic white shirt from H&M with a light wash straight leg pair of jeans (also from H&M) and some all white trainers. I loved the contrast of the white shirt against the blue of the denim and there was just something about this outfit that said Spring without being obvious.
I kept accessories very subdued and opted to add a pop of colour with this amazing *Tsuki S backpack from Kipling Global in the size small. I absolutely love Kipling bags and have quite a collection in many different colours and styles. What I love most about this bag is the olive green colour which is so fitting for the season and I love the neutral tone accents like the beige handles and sand straps which are detachable to give you a totally different way to wear this bag. As well as all these great features, this bag is also super lightweight with plenty of storage and is water resistant to protect against those dreaded Spring showers. What more could one ask for in a bag?
I just love how this bag finished off the look and complimented the white shirt beautifully. I will definitely be wearing a lot more white shirts this Spring/Summer in a variety of updates and I am looking forward to seeing what fun looks I can create. I hope you are too!
