Spring Eye Makeup Look

25/03/2015
Hey dolls! So as you may know I'm not really big on eye makeup looks because I'm a lipstick girl through and through but as spring is around the corner I thought I'd try my hand at creating an eye makeup look that I could share with you guys. I'm a novice so this is a simple look and if I can do it then seriously anyone can. I played around with my W7 palette that has 77 amazing shades as well as my Makeup Revolution Redemption Iconic 2 palette which I reviewed in a post last week here

I went for a pinkish-coral look with a hint of a bronzy-gold on the lid and a defined crease (what a mouthful haha). Unfortunately the picture above doesn't do the look much justice but I hope you can forgive me and I hope that you can still get a little bit of an idea of the look I was going for.

To start the look off I placed the shade labelled 1 from my W7 palette above my crease to act as a transition shade for all the other shades I was going to lay down. The shade itself is a pinkish-coral shade that I thought was such a spring appropriate colour and using a fluffy brush I made sure to blend it thoroughly to make sure the colour was well diffused and seemless.

I then went into the shade labelled 2 from my W7 palette and placed that directly into the crease with a denser eye shadow brush to make sure the colour was more concentrated into the crease. This shade was a deeper coral with more of a reddish-copper undertone which I though was great for adding some definition into the crease. After I placed this shade I then blended both shades out with a fluffy bending brush to make sure there were no harsh lines and that the colours were seemless.

To define my crease a bit more I placed a mixture of shades labelled 3&4 from my Iconic 2 palette into the outer corner of my crease with a pointed eye shadow brush and blended throughly to soften the colours because I didnt want the colours to be too harsh for the look. Doing this step also gave my eye a lot more shape and definition as I have hooded lids.

I then placed the shade labelled number 5 onto my lid with a wet flat brush to intensify the colour and I made sure to blend very well so that there was no harsh line of demarcation between the darker shades and this lid colour. I then went over everything with a fluffy blending brush to ensure that there were no harsh lines and that all the colours melted into each other effortlessly.

I then placed shade number 6 which is a matte vanilla shade onto my brow bone to highlight and then gave my top lashes a couple coatings of mascara after I had smudged some black kohl liner into my top lash line. These steps brightened the look and also opened my eye out a lot more. I also went back into the crease with shades 3&4 as the colours were lost a bit after blending.

To finish the look I also placed shades 3&4 underneath my bottom lash line and blended them out with shade 1 from my W7 palette to tie the whole look together. I also placed some black eye liner into my bottoom water line and coated my bottom lashes with some mascara to intensify and complete the look, The picture above is the finished look which I was very proud of if I must say so myself especially considering that eye makeup is not really my thing. Also lets ignore the fact that my eyebrows desperately need threading and lets pretend that they're currently on fleek okay? Lol.

Here's the completed look which again the picture above does not do much justice but I hope you guys like it and I really do hope you enjoyed this mini tutorial I tried my hand at today. I want to do more of these posts in the future so let me know if that's something you'd be interested in seeing more of and I'll do my best to get more posts of better quality on the blog for you guys. Come back soon. Toodles!
