The Transitional Shirt Dress

12/09/2017

In my last post I brought you autumn vibes in the Zambian summer time and it seems like I’ve unintentionally done the same this week. Not only is today’s outfit another shirt-dress from Zan Style but it is also equally suitable for the autumn chill. It is perfect for layering under thick jumpers and looks perfect on its own as you can see from today’s pics.

Made from excellent quality cotton it is light enough for the heat and versatile enough that it can also work as a great transitional piece as we go into the autumn. I’m a sucker for a detail so you know I’m thrilled that it has pockets and love the side slits which help to break up its boxy shape.

I decided to pair this shirt-dress with my black ankle boots for some height and interest as I thought that flats would make it so that the shirt overwhelmed my small frame. If you’re way taller than I am then I would encourage you to play around with the styling and maybe pair this dress with some cool flats or sandals. The sky is the limit as this shirt is white which goes with absolutely everything.

I opted to keep the styling simple and went with some gold jewellery including my Versus Versace watch that you saw in last week’s post. I also added some quirky earrings from Stella & Dot and stacked some gold rings. I thought that this finished the look off quite well and made for a cool and interesting outfit. That’s my verdict anyway but what do you guys think to this shirt dress? How would you style it for the autumn?
